bloggers meet and paddle

september 5, 2007

Michael Bradley turned up in Newfoundland this summer. He located me in Trinity Bay feeding hens and hiding from civilization in general. Stayed for supper (unfortunately I hadn't got out jigging until later so cod wasn't on the menu), pitched the tent and we planned a day paddle for the following one which turned out pretty decent in terms of weather. I was able to show him some of the headlands and arches around my neck of the woods. Michael - I'm glad you got some paddling in around the Rock this summer even though trips did not all go as planned.

indeed. and Michael & I were conspiring about visiting Scotland. interesting, Claire, paddling and gardening are 2 of my interests but how they compete! what's your solution? Alison

Yes, it was a great time, good food, good conversation and a wonderful day on the water. I love conspiracies and Scotland sounds perfect!

Alison, well this year my back and shoulder have been too sore to paddle and the weather has been too miserable for much gardening. usually I would like to paddle with the club at least once a week, garden whenever its dry and neglect the houswork enormously. sadly my house is quite tidy and I've even taken down all the curtains and washed them. . . .but it all looks tidy enough for those surprise visitors!

Claire - another paddler w/shoulder/back problems. sorry to hear that, i know it can be painful. past year i've now had 'tennis elbow' - it's all a bother! tidy house eh. haven't a clue. once a decade i half-heartedly take on a room, get discouraged, leave it for another decade. A
