a gift in november
For some it was a time to haul up the boats. Not for us. A perfect November day, warm (17C), sunny - never mind its midweek, or winds were blowing - this gift of a day was celebrated on the water.
Hi Alison, hasn't it been amazing weather!? It's clear the gods don't want/need us working... BTW, great photo on the KNL site. It was an obvious winner the moment you took it. Is that the cave we missed that day we paddled? Cheers!
Hi Michael - indeed it has. And yes, it is one of the caves we missed, as I recall it was a little brisky that day to paddle right next to the cliffs which is often needed to see caves. A
A gift indeed Alison. So much so that I would have felt guilty if I didn't take advantage and finish the last bit of painting on my plate. Oh well, I waited for rain which came today and paddled in that. Life's a beach sometimes.
Alison Dyer. writer/permie living at the junction of the icy Labrador current and the balmy gulf stream - a blog about environmental issues, growing and eating organically, deliberate living, soundscapes of a changing world, kayaking the many bays of Newfoundland, the poetry of a coastline battered by storm waves and bathed in bioluminescence, the surge in Newfoundland literature, local issues like (non-appropriate) development in St. John's, Newfoundland's capital city.

Tony :-)
Tony - glad you got out paddling this weekend. This weekend was my turn to do stuff around the house & gardens around the cove! A
